Today was interesting at church. Kyle was playing the organ for sacrament meeting. It was fast and testimony meeting today.  A lot of my children's friends, those they had gone to school and preschool with were going up to bear their testimony's and they wanted to too. Aaron and Stephanie wanted to bear their testimonies. Being with out help, I told them no originally. I didn't want to make a scene (which our family always does anyway it seems) However, on the same account,  I didn't want to discourage him completely from doing this good thing he wanted to do.  I talked to Aaron about what he wanted to say and told him to wait until the next person finished and then to go up there. Then possibly sit by Daddy until it was time to bear his testimony.  Well, Aaron went up to bear his testimony. Dillon was being very rambunctious. I was out with him while Aaron bore his testimony, but I heard every word. It was sweet and simple. He bore testimony that he knew President Monson is our prophet. and more... Well, I came back into tell Aaron a good job. Stephanie still wanted to bear her tesimony. She asked me if she could and I told her no because I thought she needed help and I couldn't help her because Daddy wasn't there to help me.  At this point, Dillon threw a fit and needed to go out again.   Well  when I came back out with Dillon this time, much to my shock and horror and yet, calm defeat, I looked down at the empty seats where my children used to be. The people who were in front of me motioned forward. They were at the pulpit! (Aaron had decided that if Daddy wasn't there to help then he would help me then he would help me by helping Stephanie) I watched as my son whispered in my daughters ear a sweet testimony and then came reverently back down to sit with me. They did everything right.  OH my what a way to start the first church after a ward boundary changes. Also this was the first Sunday with a new bishopric.  But oh how I am grateful and it is at these strange and wonderful times that a mother sits back and marvels at the goodness of her children. And sits back and is so very grateful that they are mine.  It was a testimony again to me that my children are extraordinary. Extraordinarily, brave and stubborn and disobedient and they listen to each other more than they listen to me. But they are good little people. I am grateful and overwhelmed and humbled to know I will need a lot of God's help to raise these interesting and amazing and head strong Spirits of our Heavenly Father. That was sweet of Aaron to help her. And brave of both of them. That was just sacrament meeting. Lds meeting are 3 hours long on Sundays. That was the first hour where all the families meet together. That was the main highlight though.

  1. That's pretty awesome. I had no clue they weren't being "supervised." :) What great kids you have! Reilly wanted to go up (our old ward didn't have a bunch of little kids bearing their testimony, so he hasn't asked before) but I was too leery about what might happen and told him he had to practice at home first... ;-)
